Well, I’ve done it again. Got my drawing for the Zentangle challenge done at the last minute. Actually I have 2 to share. This first one, done in Sakura’s purple and pink, I did a few weeks ago. For this one, I used Man-o-Man for the string and the tangles inside it are: Betweed, Hurry, Aah, Facets, Drupe, Ambler, Crescent Moon, Rain, Chillon, Nipa, Opus, Eye-wa, Printemps, Keeko, Shattuck, Meer, LaBel, and some I either don’t know the name or don’t remember.
Since I did it a few weeks ago, I thought it shouldn’t be my only one. I should do one at the same time everyone else is. So here is the one I just finished. I used Sakura’s Micron purple and black pens. In this one the string Tangle is Hollibaugh. Inside Hollibaugh I drew Onamato and inside Onamato I drew Jetties, Bales, Betweed, Crescent Moon, Cirquital, Ixorus, Eke, and four that I don’t know if they have names or not.
The four that are un-named to me are :
1 – four hearts in a circle
2 – flower-like one
3 – spider web-like one
4 – ribbon-like one running along the edges of Hollibaugh
I hope you enjoy my drawings!
Oh, I realized that I’ve been forgetting to say: Please encourage a new blogger and leave a comment! Comments make my day! Thank you and God bless!
I finally got a ZIA drawing done in time to post it and have it included in the Diva’s slideshow! In case you haven’t heard, Laura Harms posts a challenge every Monday for fellow Zentangle enthusiasts to try. I have my drawing done and am going to try to figure out how to get it entered in her challenge slideshow. Here is my drawing:This week’s challenge is to use a sunflower as a ‘string’ in honor of South African organization that raises money to help those who have leukemia get a bone marrow transplant. This organization is called the Sunflower fund. Sorry, I don’t know how to include links to other sites in my posts (yet!) or I’d have a link to the Sunflower Fund, to Zentangle and to “I am the diva”.
Well, its been 10 days since my last post, again. But, I have learned something! I learned that I like the “Mystique” theme by “digitalnature” better than the “Spectrum” theme. I found out about this theme because I went to http://livingtreestudios.wordpress.com/my-tangles/ to see how to draw the “Bilt” zentangle pattern. I liked her theme so I thought I’d try it. And here we are! In celebration of this wonderful event I am going to post 2 pictures! They will be my first 2 zentangle drawings. I drew these last fall. I am planning on posting more and I think you’ll agree, my drawings have gotten better.
What have I been busy doing? I am not sure, but I haven’t spent alot of time at my computer lately, which is why I haven’t blogged recently. I know that I have been busy helping my boys do their 4-H records. They have to be done by October 3.
We have had some really nice days recently. Not today though. Today is windy. It started out sunny, became cloudy such that we thought it was going to rain and now it is sunny again. We also lost a tree because of the wind. Thankfully it was already dead and it didn’t hurt anybody when it fell, nor damage the fence too much. And nobody got out before we discovered it and fixed it.
Here is the picture, fullsize, that I’m using for my gravatar. This is Stubbins. He is a registered Half Arabian; he is also a paint. He lost his ears when he was a baby. He was born in the Montana mountains in April and he got frostbite on his ears.
Today is much different than yesterday. Today is bright and sunny and pleasantly warm – to us 76 degrees is pleasantly warm.
Here is a picture of our very first family pet. Her name was Saturday, because she came to us on a Saturday morning in June. We had only lived here about 2 months. She was about 8 weeks old and very dusty! It was about 2 years later when we got Samara, pictured in my previous post. She also died last year, in December, while most of my kids were at a Quiz meet. We still miss her very much. When my oldest was in school, Saturday thought one of the BEST places to be was on C-1’s math book, if C-1 was doing her math. If she wasn’t doing math, then a lap was okay.
Well, it is wet and dreary today. We needed the rain so I am trying hard not to complain. 😉 I think it ironic that we had such a wet spring with all the snow melt and rain and now summer is ending kinda’ dry.
Bible Quizzing has started. The first quiz is Oct 1. There are several here studying/memorizing for the adult quiz in a few months and C-3 is also planning to participate in the Aiken Invitational this December.
To practice posting pictures, here is a picture of our first family dog. Her name was Samara; she was a German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd cross. She died in 2010 at the age of 14
I hope to be putting up pictures of my crocheting and my Zentangle drawings soon.
